ABOUT MANDY

Registered Osteopath

Mandy Banton (D. Prof Osteopathy) uses a wide spectrum of osteopathic approaches, including cranial osteopathy, to help people of all ages: babies, children, young, midlife and older adults. She practises at Whitley Bay Osteopathic Centre in North Tyneside.

Approach

Mandy combines empathy with a detailed understanding of clinical anatomy in a practice that puts the individual at the centre of the consultation. She is interested in helping people to achieve a greater sense of ease in their life and uses a gentle, enabling approach.

Accreditation

Mandy is a Fellow of the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy. In 2019 she was awarded a Professional Doctorate in Osteopathy for a thesis on the philosophical, psychological and neurophysiological aspects of embodied communication between osteopaths and their patients.


Since graduating from the London School of Osteopathy, Mandy has trained with some of the most experienced cranial and paediatric osteopaths in the country, in London, Edinburgh and Stroud. She is registered with the General Osteopathy Council.

Lifelong Learning

Mandy is enthusiastic about maintaining her ongoing professional development and is a member of the Institute of Osteopathy, which exists to promote the latest knowledge and promote best practice in osteopathy. They also produce the iO Patient Charter, based on the national quality standards of the Care Quality Commission, which demonstrates osteopathic commitment to the highest standards of patient care.

Mandy is founder of PhOst | Philosophy of Osteopathy which promotes research and education about the philosophical underpinnings of Osteopathy and other Bodywork systems and therapies.
